Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full terms)
NextSchool is a research tool, not a guarantee. Our AI consultant can be wrong, miss things, or be out of date.
School information comes from public sources and from schools themselves. We do not independently verify it. Always confirm tuition, admissions, programs, and policies directly with the school before making decisions.
You use NextSchool at your own risk. We cap our financial liability and disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent the law allows.
Ontario law and Ontario courts govern any dispute.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or otherwise using NextSchool (the “Service”), you (“you” or “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and NextSchool (“NextSchool,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, do not use the Service. Your continued use after a Terms update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Service Description
NextSchool is an informational research platform that aggregates publicly available school information and offers AI-assisted recommendations. The Service includes:
An AI consultant that generates suggestions based on user-provided preferences and aggregated school data
School profile pages, search, comparison, and shortlisting tools
A self-service portal that allows verified schools to update their own profile
Optional account features such as saved notes, visit records, and tour requests
The Service is informational only. NextSchool is not a licensed educational consultant, placement agent, broker, fiduciary, or admissions advisor. We do not represent any school or family in any transaction.
3. School Information — Sources & Accuracy
School information displayed on NextSchool is compiled from two categories of sources, both of which are controlled by parties other than NextSchool:
Public-domain sources, including but not limited to: provincial Ministry of Education directories, school authority registries, the Canadian Independent School Directory, school-operated public websites, publicly accessible curriculum and inspection reports, and news media. NextSchool aggregates this information; we do not author it and we do not independently audit its accuracy or completeness.
School-submitted content: Verified school administrators may claim and update their school profile through the school portal. Content provided by a school is the responsibility of that school. NextSchool does not pre-vet, fact-check, or guarantee any school-submitted information.
School information may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or no longer reflect current reality. Tuition, admissions criteria, application deadlines, programs offered, staffing, accreditation status, capacity, contact information, and policies change without notice and may not be reflected on NextSchool.
Always verify directly with the school.
Before submitting an application, paying any fees, scheduling a visit, or making any enrollment decision, you must independently confirm all material information directly with the school. NextSchool is not liable for any loss, expense, or harm resulting from reliance on school information displayed on the Service.
If you are a school and notice information about your school that is incorrect, you may claim your profile through the school portal or contact [email protected]. If you are a parent and notice an error, please email [email protected].
4. AI Consultant — Disclaimers
The AI consultant can be wrong.
NextSchool's AI consultant produces suggestions using third-party large language models and aggregated public data. AI systems are non-deterministic and can produce outputs that are inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or fabricated(“hallucinated”), including outputs that confidently misstate facts about specific schools.
You acknowledge and agree that:
No professional advice. AI output is not professional educational, psychological, medical, legal, financial, or admissions advice and must not be relied upon as such. Consult licensed professionals for those decisions.
No guarantee of accuracy. AI output may misattribute facts to schools, invent programs that do not exist, misstate tuition, or omit material information. Always confirm specific claims with the school before acting.
No guarantee of fit. An AI recommendation is not a prediction of admission, academic success, social fit, or family satisfaction. School fit depends on many factors that are not captured by our system.
Not a substitute for visits. AI cannot observe a school in person. Campus visits, conversations with current families, and direct admissions interviews remain essential.
You retain final responsibility. You alone decide which schools to consider, apply to, visit, or enroll in. NextSchool does not direct or supervise that decision.
Right to human review. Under Quebec's Law 25 and as a matter of policy, you may at any time request a human review of any AI-generated recommendation by emailing [email protected].
Age requirement. You must be 18 years of age or older, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a parent account. Children may not create accounts.
Parental authority. If you provide information about a child, you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and have the authority to provide that information.
Accurate information. You agree to provide true, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining your account.
Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
6. Acceptable Use

7. School Accounts & Claims
The following additional terms apply if you register, claim, or manage a school profile on behalf of a school or school authority:
Authority to claim. By claiming a school profile, you represent and warrant that you are duly authorized by the school or school authority to do so.
Verification. NextSchool may require email-domain verification, document verification, or other reasonable proof of authority. We reserve the right to revoke a claim found to be unauthorized, fraudulent, or inaccurate.
Accuracy of submissions. The school is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, currency, and lawfulness of any content it submits or displays through its profile, including tuition, admissions information, photographs, testimonials, and free-text descriptions.
Content licence. By submitting content, the school grants NextSchool a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service, including in search results, comparisons, and aggregated reports. The school warrants that it has all rights necessary to grant this licence.
School indemnification. The school agrees to indemnify and hold NextSchool harmless from any claim by a third party arising out of school-submitted content, including claims of inaccuracy, intellectual-property infringement, defamation, or violation of privacy.
Compliance. School-submitted content must comply with applicable laws, including consumer-protection, advertising-standards, accessibility, and human-rights legislation.

Your content. You retain ownership of notes, preferences, and other content you submit. By submitting content, you grant NextSchool a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for the limited purposes of operating, securing, debugging, and improving the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ALL SCHOOL INFORMATION AND AI-GENERATED OUTPUT, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.
NEXTSCHOOL EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, RELIABILITY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, NEXTSCHOOL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT (A) SCHOOL INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT; (B) AI-GENERATED OUTPUT IS ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR FIT FOR ANY PURPOSE; (C) THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; OR (D) ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions the above exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and any non-excludable warranties are limited to the minimum scope and duration permitted.
11. Limitation of Liability
No liability for decisions. NextSchool is not liable for any decision, action, or omission you take based on AI output, school information, or any other content on the Service.
No indirect damages. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NextSchool will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or educational outcomes, even if advised of the possibility.
Aggregate cap. NextSchool's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to NextSchool in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
Basis of bargain. You acknowledge that this allocation of risk is a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and NextSchool, and that NextSchool would not provide the Service on the same terms without it.
Statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by applicable law (including, where applicable, liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NextSchool, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of or reliance on the Service or any output generated by it; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or any third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights; (d) any content you submit to the Service; or (e) any decision you make about a school, including application, enrollment, payment, or visit decisions.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including (without limitation) cloud infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase), AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, accessed via OpenRouter), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and error monitoring (Sentry). Each third party operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. NextSchool is not responsible for the availability, performance, security, or content of any third-party service. Disruption or failure of a third-party service may cause the Service to be unavailable or behave unexpectedly.
A current list of sub-processors who handle personal information appears in our Privacy Policy.
14. Suspension & Termination
By you. You may terminate your account at any time through Settings → Privacy or by emailing [email protected]. Account-deletion requests are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By NextSchool. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk to NextSchool or other users, or engaged in fraudulent or unlawful conduct.
Effect of termination. Upon termination your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17) survive termination.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service, by email, or by updating the Effective Date above. Your continued use of the Service after the Effective Date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account.
16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, for any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, except that NextSchool may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Quebec residents retain any rights of action available under Quebec law that cannot be waived by contract.
17. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order form for paid features, constitute the entire agreement between you and NextSchool regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on the same subject.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
