About Montessori Alberta
Our mission is to create lifelong learners by cultivating your child’s own natural desire to learn. We achieve this by creating an enriched learning environment where academic principles and activities allow your child to discover and learn in a way that helps develop the intellectual and mental foundation necessary to learn skills, concepts, and principles to better discover and understand the world around them.
Montessori Alberta is a Calgary-based preschool and accredited kindergarten serving children ages 3 to 6. Located in the Hillhurst/Sunnyside community, the school offers both full-day and half-day programs rooted in the Montessori Method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. The team comprises certified Montessori teachers who provide engaging, child-centered learning experiences.

The Montessori Method For over 100 years, the Montessori Method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori has been used worldwide to help shape children into lifelong learners. A physician and child educator, Dr. Montessori developed an approach that is scientifically designed to develop the whole personality of the child at their own natural rate of progress. Children taught within the Montessori Method work at their own pace and at their own level in a way that guides them to fulfill their potential. The positive learning habits and skills developed in a Montessori class last a lifetime and result in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge; better equipping the child to enter new situations and adjust and thrive.
